The JBLM Library System houses The Northwest Region Reference Center which is located at Grandstaff Library. The center consists of a large and varied collection of military science and military history titles. Additional military-related titles are located at McChord Library. Search the JBLM catalog  to locate specific titles or contact the JBLM Library System for further info:

Free interlibrary loan service is available for materials which are not available at a JBLM Library.
NOTE: Requested items must be at least a year old. It normally takes approximately 7-10 business days for items to arrive.

The JBLM Library System also has a large collection of online research databases.  To access these resources remotely you must first obtain a JBLM library account and then create a PIN.

Online research databases are also available via AKO. Once logged in, place your cursor on SELF SERVICE and select MY LIBRARY.

JBLM libraries carry study materials for the following tests: ASVAB, Military Flight Aptitude, Officer Candidate & AFOQT.

Paperback books - free kits of paperback books (about 25 current titles/box) are available for deploying and training units who will be away from library service for 3 days or longer. 1 kit/50 soldiers. Call Library Headquarters at (253) 967-7736 for additional information.

offers over 500 online courses on a wide range of subjects/levels. It's available 24/7, instructor led, and self paced.  Some courses offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
