About the Employment Readiness Program

The Employment Readiness Program (ERP) assists Families to meet the challenges associated with career planning and job search by providing expert help and resources through a cohesive, standardized employment support program.

We provide a full range of information and referral services and assistance in the areas of employment, education and training. Services are designed to give eligible personnel and their Family members the competitive edge necessary to secure employment and include:

Expert Help with Resume Assistance, Job Application, Interviewing, Career Transition and Career Counseling.

Resources to include a Centralized Job Box, Scan to Document, Online Job Search, Resource Library, Computer Lab (6 PCs), Free WI-FI, and Fax.

We are located in AFCS-McChord, 552 Barnes Blvd. at JBLM - McChord Field and Bldg 03271 (Office 107-5) next to HAWK Transition Center at JBLM-Lewis North.

We are open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; open most training holidays and closed on holidays.

No appointment is needed to use the program resource centers; however, we recommend booking an appointment if special help is needed. You can book and appointment (or register for any of our classes) on-line at jblmafcs.checkappointments.com.

Employment Classes

Employment Readiness is able to teach on a wide variety of employment related courses. Special subject courses can be set up upon request.

These Courses are held Monthly:
Resume 101 – Assists in preparing a current, effective resume; particular attention is paid to modernizing the resume & articulating value of the participants.  Participants will leave with structured knowledge of how to compose a competitive resume which reflects their best qualities.

Complete Federal Resume – Explore deeper into usajobs.gov and the Federal Resume. This course will teach participants the tricks and strategies of the job search and Federal Resume format.

Interview Ready- How to prepare for a successful job interview.
